We know that the current global climate is stressful. During this period of uncertainty, our teams have doubled down on prioritizing what matters most to all those we serve and with whom we work. In response to the sudden and severe global outbreak of COVID-19,

AMD3 Foundation, the Magee Bone and Joint Center and the UPMC Innovation Center are collaborating behind the scenes to support our partners, patients, and our community in multiple virtual efforts including leading existing teams remotely, launching new online projects and virtual town hall events, and developing and enhancing our educational and digital offerings.

Operation Walk Pittsburgh has postponed its 2020 mission to Antigua, Guatemala. As always, our top priority is keeping our Travel Team Members healthy and safe, and this includes being sensitive to and respectful of the unexpected pressures, including the financial, physical, emotional, and professional stressors, they are now facing given the outbreak. Likewise, we know that our Guatemalan counterparts and patients are burdened by these same pressures, and they have always been considered a part of our team. It was a difficult decision to postpone the mission, but we know it’s the right decision given the circumstances. We’re working closely with our counterparts in Guatemala to reschedule the trip and look forward to sending you an update about our new travel dates.

goShadow is working in tandem with existing partners and the global health community to leverage the power of What Matters to You? to support more human-centered care in a time of crisis.

As we continue monitoring the evolving situation, our teams remain committed to supporting our community in any way that we can.
