The Carole Kerr DiGioia and Anthony M. DiGioia Jr. Memorial Fund
Supporting young professionals and students pursuing health care careers.
In keeping with their dedication to service and education, the Carole Kerr DiGioia and Anthony M. DiGioia, Jr. Memorial Fund has been established by their family to support students and young professionals interested in careers in any health care-related field.
The Fund gives individuals the opportunity to experience the joy of medicine and receive special training and skills that will set them apart from their peers and prepare them to be change-makers and leaders in their chosen fields.
Currently, there are two competitive programs supported by the Fund that are available to interested candidates.

Walk It Forward Scholars Program
Join Operation Walk Pittsburgh during its 2025 mission to Antigua, Guatemala. The Walk It Forward Scholars Program gives students pursuing training in any health care related profession, as well as undergraduate students interested in health care careers, the chance to experience the joy of medicine during this special mission and at no cost. Internship Program For Health Care Innovators
A new program for 2025, the Health Care Innovators (HCI) Program provides competitive internships for students wishing to propel their health care-related careers forward or for students looking for a glide year experience before beginning medical school. HCI Interns will utilize the power of educational outreach programs linked with community partnerships and a team of experts to implement innovative approaches that drive improvements in bone and joint health and reduce disparities in care.
